The Divine Feminine and Censorship with Cassidy Austin
Artist Interview: Cassidy Austin
In todays episode I interview Cassidy Austin for Brush Work. Cassidy is an oil painter who paints the divine feminine through classical techniques with bold innovation. Join us in a talk about the day in the life of an artist, what it’s like to be censored on most social media apps, and what happens when you focus on improving your weaknesses.
“My work represents a celebration of femininity and the strength that comes with embracing one's own body. By portraying women of all shapes and sizes, I aim to challenge the unrealistic and harmful standards that have been imposed on us. Through my use of vibrant colors and textures, I seek to convey the energy and vitality that exists within every woman. My paintings are not just depictions of the body, but reflections of the soul.
My training in Florence, Italy, with its rich history of art and culture, has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the human form and its infinite possibilities. My work is a testament to the enduring power of classical techniques, fused with a contemporary perspective. I believe that art has the power to heal and transform. Through my paintings, I hope to create a space where women can see themselves represented authentically and with dignity, and where they can find the courage to love themselves as they are.
As a woman and an artist, I am committed to breaking down the barriers that have kept us from fully embracing our bodies and our lives. My work is a call to action, an invitation to join me in celebrating the beauty and resilience of the female spirit.” -Cassidy Austin
