Why Avoiding Content Creation Is A MISTAKE with Brittany Torres
Have you been avoiding making content for Instagram, Twitch, YouTube, or other social media platforms? Does posting consistently to Pinterest or TikTok set your teeth on edge? Would you rather just make art instead of doing marketing?
Coach Brittany Torres chats with me about WHY we neglect our online presence and how to get over specific hinderances. Get a loving kick in the pants with some advice from two very different artists who use social media to sell their digital and traditional artwork.
Guilt: Pressure of failing yourself. Why start again when you might disappoint yourself once more?
Distraction: Artist viewing content creation as a distraction from their primary creative work.
Lack of Authenticity: fear that producing content may dilute the authenticity of their work, making their art seem commercial or insincere. They don’t want to “sell out”.
Creative Pressure: Expectations of consistent output, feeling pressured to constantly produce content, which can lead to creative burnout or feeling forced to create when not inspired. Makes them not want to start in the first place.
A posting plan to get you back into a consistent content creation rhythm:
3 times a week- post an image to the feed on a scheduled day.
Every day for a week- post to your stories. Keep it simple and art related.
